| LIVE! TOMORROW!!!! New Deal Cafe in Greenbelt! |
[May. 7th, 2011|10:44 am] |
You heard right, Keltish has come out of our Winter hibernation, and we have some SURPRISES in store!
Mark your calendars and come on out to the New Deal Cafe for awesome food and some great music from our NEW LINE UP!
Keltish will be playing the "Green Man Festival" May 8th from 5PM - 6:30PM
Keltish has taken many faces since its inception, beginning as an instrumental Celtic rock group and evolving over time to the 3 members that have comprised the group for many years now. But now, we have added some new faces and talents to the line up, and are debuting our new sound MAY 8th, 2011!
New faces and talents include...
Glenn Fink. A multi instrumental virtuoso, Glenn is also bringing his bluesy voice to harmonies and leads with Keltish. Glenn wrote his first song at age 5. In high school he learned about analogue synthesizers and multi-track recording, and joined his first gigging band, an original group modeled after The Police who had to keep their ages quiet in order to get hired by clubs. From there he began composing pop music, then moved over to folk, and finally settled into classic rock n roll and jazz fusion, and now he uses all of these influences to write and perform his own music. Glenn plays... nearly everything he picks up, but you'll see him play guitar, keys and occasionally bass with Keltish. Glenn also brings with him several original pieces for Keltish to "Keltify".
Our other newest member is none other than Tigre Cruz of Kiva fame! Tigre is a "rhythmancer" (a drum mage), a drum instructor, and a drum circle facilitator. In his thirty four years of drumming, studying, training, and/or instructing classical and modern percussion, he has acquired a wealth of experience in band, orchestra, marching band and competitive drum corps. He is immersed in traditional West African Djembe drumming and technique, but look forward to hearing him spin some Latin and Middle Eastern rhythms into Keltish's repetoire as well. Tigre will also be gracing our sound with his lyrical tenor voice.
We hope to see you all out for an evening of great food, wine and music! Look forward to still more on our calendar in the very near future! |
